"Mayan Civilization"

There’s so much to do and see in the country of Mexico. Located on the countries western coast on the Bay of Banderas, Puerto Vallarta has been a popular vacation destination since the 1960s. The American director John Huston filmed the Night of the Iguana just south of this city, putting it on the map as a vacation city. This resort city features fantastic beaches, where you can enjoy simply soaking up the sun, or where you can enjoy water recreational activities. Swimming with the dolphins is a popular activity in this vacation city and there are several organizations that offer opportunities to do so. "Bay of Banderas"On the opposite side of the country sits the famed Mayan Riviera, on the countries Yucatan Peninsula. The white sand beaches along the eastern coast of Mexico hug the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and stretch from Puerto Morales to Punta Allan and also includes the island of Cozumel. Long before this portion of Mexico was a popular vacation destination, it was home to the ancient Mayan tribe and the many ruins that still remain throughout the area and add to the attraction of the Mayan Riviera. While visiting the area, stay at one of the many first-class resorts, but don’t forget to explore the natural wonders of the region, including those famed Mayan ruins and the mysterious senotes. A trip to this part of Mexico is sure to be an unforgettable one.

While there are many beach towns along the Mayan Riviera, the Playa del Carmen is among one of the most renowned. This beach town is located just below the popular vacation destination of Cancun and offers some of the best beaches of this region. While visiting the city, try SCUBA diving in one of the senotes, mix and mingle with the locals and other vacationers along the laid back Avenida Quinta or just soak up the sun on one of the white sand beaches.

"Playa del Carmen"If you’re planning a trip, you’ll want to begin by preparing yourself. Brush up on some key Spanish phrases, grab your passport, transfer some funds to pesos and research what Mexico has to offer to decide what best suits your interests. The western city of Puerto Vallarta hugs the coast of the Pacific is a bustling city that boasts remarkable beaches and sites. The northeastern city of Playa del Carmen, which sits on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, also offers breathtaking beaches and sites, but in a more laid back atmosphere. The Maya Riviera spans along the eastern coast of Mexico and houses some of the country’s largest resort hotels. No matter what you’re interested in experiencing – exploring ancient relics, splashing about in crystal blue warm waters or experiencing a warm and lively culture, you’re sure to find it in Mexico.
